A warm welcome to the little blue potting shed that is my studio. It may be little, but here you'll find landscape paintings and prints inspired by Scottish weather and light, small colourful textile and knitted gifts along with handmade cards.

The Little Blue Shed - a potted history

Thank you for visiting The Little Blue Shed website. Please have a look around!

The Little Blue Shed has been home to my art studio since 2008. The gallery pages, (visible via the Facebook button above) will give you an impression of some of the work produced here over the past wee while.

In between the priorities of our young family and studying a PDGE course, the Little Blue Shed has had a less productive season since the success of the Open Studio and workshop events of last summer; however, I hope to return to painting in early summer 2014 when my course finishes.

The Scottish landscape continues to inspire me and I like to combine acrylics with collage and other textures to evoke light and space. As well as producing paintings and hand made cards, I enjoy using my sewing machine to experiment with up-cycling fabrics into small bags and decorative/wearable pieces.

I make cards when I can, as a short time spent creatively in The Little Blue Shed, (whenever possible) keeps me going. These cards combine painting and collage in unique abstract designs, are left blank inside and are available for £3 each.

Despite this busy year, I still exhibit a few pieces at The Line Gallery in Linlithgow and occasionally at Culross Pottery and Gallery. (Click the link above for more details.)
